catleenxx asked: ahh your work is awesome. <3
Ahhhhhhhh! Thank you so much! I’m gonna bask in this for the rest of the day now :3
Ok, so for my vagina project I decided to focus less on women (because I would be excluding women without vaginas), and more on the vagina and the dysphoria that can come with owning one and not being educated on it.
I know personally I’ve had to do a lot of growth and research on my own in order to be ok with what nature gave me. From being ok with my first period, to learning that acne and discharge is normal and doesn’t mean you’re diseased and dying/undesirable. I’ve had to do it all on my own.
Here’s where you guys come in:
Send me, in notes, fanmail, messages, morse code, any myths or misinformation you were given about your vaginas. Tell me things you were never taught and had to learn the hard way. Tell me about the first time you were brave enough to look at yourself in the mirror. Tell me things people have told you, wrong, right, nice, hurtful, all of it.
This is for art purposes only. I will not publish these confessions with your name, nor will I publish them at all if you don’t want me to.
Just please, tell me your stories!
Pair I, 2014
Sneak peek of a series I’m working on that I haven’t quite worked all the kinks out of.
Mainly, wanting to make a series about women using vaginas but knowing that excludes trans women etc.
It certainly was her projecting her own insecurities! She didn’t mean it to be insulting and I certainly did my best not to take it as such. If my work makes people uncomfortable, then I believe I’m doing something right ;)
New large work in progress.
I showed it to a woman in my Medieval class and she told me “if I had a body like that I would hide it away forever.”
I didn’t tell her it’s a self-portrait and it makes me so uncomfortable when working on it because of how unflattering it is that sometimes I want to cry.
But other times I want to show it to every person I know and shout “this is me! Aren’t I beautiful?”
Two finished pieces for my watercolor class.
Watercolor and gouache on paper, Watercolor and gouache on absorbent ground on canvas
oops another one
Two new mandalas. Going on a drawing spree.
